Create your own quizzes
bab.la is an interactive language portal: We want everyone to join! On bab.la you can create your own quizzes on different subjects (e.g. grammar quizzes, vocabulary quizzes etc.) and send them to friends, family or your students. Your quizzes can be used as a preparation for a trip abroad, as lessons for tutoring, as help to freshen up your vocabulary or just to study foreign languages.
You need to be registered in order to create a quiz . After you login, a link will appear on the left to create a quiz.
When creating a quiz you will follow a two-step process: In the first step, you will be able to enter a description of the quiz. In the second step, you will be able to enter your questions.
Set up the quiz by choosing a category (e.g. grammar, vocabulary, conversation) and a language level (beginner, advanced, expert etc.). Next, use keywords to tag your quiz (e.g. German conversation, talking, business meeting). The description helps other users to find the right quiz when searching.
You may add as many questions as you like to a quiz. You can choose between multiple choice or fill in the blanks questions. For multiple choice questions simply type in the question and the corresponding correct and incorrect answers. Tip: We recommend entering at least two wrong answers in order to limit simple guessing. Your answers will be shown as alternative suggestions to each question. The multiple choice question type suits perfectly e.g. as a vocabulary trainer. For fill in the blanks questions just enter the question or a sentence, then mark the word or phrase that should be 'missing' and click on 'blank' above then text entry field. Filling the blanks is often used to practice grammar. When you are finished with your question, the next question will appear by clicking on "next page".
When you have entered all desired questions, click on "finalize quiz" to upload the quiz. All questions will be listed once more for checking. If you want to change something, click on "edit" to adapt the pages. With a click on "publish quiz" the quiz is uploaded on bab.la and will be available immediately for other users.
After publishing the quiz, a new page with direct link, bookmark and email functions will appear. You can use the direct link to embed the test on your website. The bookmark function helps you organize your quizzes with your bookmarking tool and makes the quiz easier for other users to find. You can also send your quest directly to your friends, family, colleagues, or students using the email tool.
